Cincinnati Housing Partners is Going Green.

Using NSP funding through Hamilton County,
CHP is building energy efficient homes on Tower Avenue in St. Bernard.

These homes will be Energy Star certified and will be built using Optimal Value Engineered Framing (OVE). OVE, also known as “smart framing,” is creating a “green” solution to framing a house. Essentially this accomplishes two goals: conserving lumber and insulating better. It is estimated that the average monthly utility bill on these homes will be less than $100.00.

These 1600 sq. ft. homes will have 3 bedrooms,
2 1/2 baths and a partial basement with attached garage.

Other features of these homes include:

  • High efficiency furnace/HVAC
  • Low E glass windows
  • Foam insulation
  • Energy savings appliances
  • Name brand kitchen cabinets
  • Stainless steel appliances
  • Solid surface counter-top
  • Hardwood flooring on first floor
  • 1st Floor brick front and sides
  • Architectural shingles

Located at 4215 and 4217 Tower Avenue, these homes will include a forgivable soft second mortgage of $10,000 provided by Hamilton County and a 15 year tax abatement.
